What is Airbrushing......
It has been the secret of Movie Stars and TV personalities for years, and now, using the latest airbrush technology we can create a natural, flawless look for you, designed to last throughout your entire event. This fairly new technique is an amazing way to apply makeup. The airbrush sprays a fine mist of foundation over the skin. It is extremely relaxing and the results are incredible. This type of makeup is perfect for weddings. We are professionally trained in makeup for photography, and our professional makeup application techniques will create cry-proof, hug-proof and kiss-proof makeup designed to last.
In this day and age of advancing technologies, digital photography has become the trend in the industry of Wedding Photography. Often times with digital photography the picture quality is of the absolute highest resolution which means that even the smallest details are captured. A digital camera will see streaking often associated with the application of foundation with brushes and sponges, to uneven coverage, which can usually to undetected on “regular” film and the naked eye. One unique character of the airbrush is that it atomizes a foundation into tiny “pixels” that can be layered over a persons face. With the proper layering technique an absolutely flawless finish can be achieved that can make a persons face young and radiant in appearance. That cakey, heavy feeling of foundations and concealers are no more. I have been told by many clients that it feels like they have nothing on at all. While an airbrush system facilitates in the application of flawless a appearing foundation and can also be used to apply blush, lip and even eyes with the right stencils. I often find my self using it strictly for the foundations and the highlighting and contouring of the cheeks and occasionally for the eyes. I primarily rely on the brushes and gentle hand strokes that come from “painting on the canvas” for the eyes.
What is Airbrush Make Up and why should I consider it?
Airbrushing the photos of movie and TV stars for publication used to be the way to remove cosmetic flaws in order to make it appear that the star had a flawless complexion, something that each of us strive for. Many of us today have several cosmetic imperfections that we wish to camouflage but traditional make up just doesn't stay in place or last very long without the need to re apply frequently. Airbrush make up can last anywhere from 12 to 24 hours without the need for reapplication and takes only minutes when compared to other make up applications. Foundations are sprayed on so thin and even that the use of concealers aren’t usually necessary. Another advantage that an airbrush has over regular methods of applications are that nothing ever touches the skin. Th make up used in an airbrush system usually needs to be sprayed on in a more precise fashion because it normally doesn’t move after it is applied. This is the one thing that brides absolutely love on their wedding. The bride may have to hug and kiss hundreds of people on her wonderful day and the last thing they want is to leave shades of their face on everyone. For those brides who have “problems” such as heavy acne or scarred skin, the airbrush can provide coverage for any skin type ;while being extremely hygienic since no part of the airbrush ever touches the skin.
Is Airbrush Make Up Safe?
Not only is the make up safe, it has been FDA approved and is a more sanitary application for make up than traditional make up applications. The products that I use have not been tested on animals and is recommended by Dermatologists. Airbrush make up is skin-friendly, non-allergenic, and the most sanitary make up application available today. Airbrushing make up on to the skin means nothing touches the skin except the tiny mist of dots. Unlike traditional makeup, there are no sponges, reused brushes, or fingers touching the skin. The result is a far more hygienic product, with fewer toxins on the skin. This application helps the skin stay young, healthy and beautiful. Your wedding day is probably going to be one of the most memorable days of your life, and rightly so, you want to be unforgettably beautiful! So how exactly does a bride-to-be go about achieving that "bridal glow"? Well, there are a couple of things you need to do: preparing your skin for your wedding day and selecting a makeup artist that is right for you.
The Effects of Lighting and Makeup Solutions:
This is an important element that makeup artists consider when applying wedding day makeup. Wedding photography takes place in three types of lighting: (1) Natural light – outdoor light produced by the sun, which is the harshest, purest light. Makeup must be very soft and in neutral shades to look natural. Dark or bright colors will look harsh and aging; (2) florescent lights – these lights are found in department stores and homes. To counter the green tones this cool white light casts, warmth must be added to the face through the shades of makeup chosen; (3) Incandescent light – lighting found in some restaurants and hotel ballrooms. This lighting casts red undertones. Because this light is dimmer, softer, and rosier, makeup must be applied stronger and in more intense, richer hues to show up.
The Final Result: Camera-Ready Wedding Parties
Brides should consider engaging a professional makeup artist trained in the specialized craft of photography and video makeup to insure they will be camera-ready; that is the makeup artist has used the appropriate techniques for their unique features and wedding setting. Being camera-ready will produce infinitely more flattering and much more natural (similar to the way the eye sees the face!) photographic results.
